Morocco has 4 great mountain ranges: Rif, Middle Atlas, High Atlas and Anti Atlas. Our excursion will allow us to know the Great Atlas: the valley of Imlil and its Berber villages. In this hiking tour in the valley of imlil we will spend the day in the middle of nature with spectacular landscapes and enjoy lunch in a Berber house.

Itinerary

Point 1 - Pick up from your hotel/riad at 9 am to the village of Imlil

We pick you up from your hotel/riad in Marrakech at 9 am and then we will head towards the Imlil Valley. On our route we will cross the village of Tahanaout from where we begin to admire the beauty of the Great Atlas. We will head south to the gorges of Moulay Brahim discovering natural landscapes of enormous beauty full of scenes of Berber villages of adobe settled at the foot of the mountains. We will continue to the village of Asni, where it is possible to visit the weekly market every Saturday.

We continue to the village of Imlil located at an altitude of 1740m. Imlil is the starting point for many of the crossings to the Toubkal, known as the highest peak in North Africa (4167m). The streets of Imlil are mountain-oriented trails and still retain their Berber essence.

Point 2 - Arrival in Imlil and meeting with the guide to start the walk

From this point we will leave the vehicle and enjoy a cup of tea, our local guide awaits us to start a walk of approximately 4 km to the Berber village of Aremd located at 1970 meters altitude. On our route to Aremd we will discover the Berber villages of Ait Souka and Targa Imoula, also before our view we will have the peaks of Jbels Aguelzim, Aksouâl and Adrar Adj that exceed 3000 m of altitude.

Our trek ends in Aremd, the last village before the Toubkal shelter. Amred shows us the Berber architecture in its narrow adobe streets. Its economy that is now also dedicated to tourism is based on the agriculture of fruit trees and cereals that are grown on the characteristic terraces in the mountains.

Point 3 - Berber home lunch in the village of Armed - Tour of Marrakech

Lunch will be held in a Berber house in the village of Aremd where we will have the opportunity to enjoy an excellent dining experience of Moroccan cuisine.
Among the dishes they offer us: soup, typical salads, vegetable couscous, chicken tagine, fruits, mint tea and mineral water.

After lunch we will walk to our vehicle to begin the return to Marrakech that will be about 18 hours. end of our hiking tour in the Imlil Valley.
